Lost Landscapes Recreated

Kingskerswell: Manor Court & Barton c.16c.

There was a Royal Manor on this site since the time of Edward the Confessor: The Manor fell into disuse in the late 16th century and then into eventual ruin.
To date no images have been found.

This view has been put together with the help of Gerald Quinn, following his local studies and liaison with the archaeologists involved and in conjunction with the Manor House Trust.
Where details and archaeological features are subject to some doubt, they will be shown with possible variations in subsequent pictures.
We are grateful to the late John Hartley for initiating the project to reconstruct these images.
