Toll House At True Street  c.1897

This Toll house stood at the junction where the road to Berry Pomeroy leaves the Totnes to Paignton road, known locally as True Street , and was unusual in that it was round ended and slate hung.  It was taken down in 1968, to widen and improve visibility at what has become a busy and awkward junction.

Archive material used to help construct this image came from the Totnes Image Bank, Torquay local studies library  and Herald Express Bygones.
